Intern - Finance & Accounting

Purpose of Position
Development of college students who are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Intern will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that will provide an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is a temporary, non-exempt position.

Typical Duties

Under the direction of the director, accounting:

Assist with capital project administration duties such as monitoring capital work order approval process

Assist with the development and preparation of monthly forecast and annual budgets

Assist with recording monthly journal entries and transport revenue to general ledger

Assist with developing and completing internal reports

Support the finance and accounting department as necessary

Fully participate in the Northern Natural Gas Safety Program

College student, sophomore, junior or senior standing, currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Finance or Accounting.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Offices, especially Work, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
